Salsify Continues its 50 Best Journey

Salsify at the Roundhouse
Salsify at the Roundhouse has been included on the prestigious 50 Best Restaurants extended list for 2026, placing at 71. The announcement forms part of the annual reveal of restaurants ranked 51–100, ahead of the global awards ceremony.
This marks the second time Salsify has appeared on the extended list – the first being #88 in 2025 – and the team recognises the achievement as another milestone in the restaurant’s evolution and its growing contribution to South African fine dining.
For Executive Chef and Co‑Owner Ryan Cole, the recognition affirms the philosophy that guides the kitchen. “Being included on the extended 50 Best list is an honour for all of us. Salsify has always been driven by precision, creativity and a deep respect for South African produce. To see that approach resonate internationally is incredibly rewarding.”
Set within the historic Roundhouse overlooking Camps Bay, Salsify has, over the past several years, become one of the country’s most acclaimed culinary destinations. Its meticulous attention to detail, refined service and produce‑driven menu have earned it both local and international acclaim, positioning it as a pinnacle of contemporary South African gastronomy.
Head Chef Nina du Toit reflects on the journey that has brought Salsify to this point. “Our growth has been shaped by dedication, consistency and an unwavering commitment to excellence. This acknowledgement speaks to the passion of our staff and the loyalty of our guests, who inspire us to keep pushing forward. We’re incredibly proud to represent South African fine dining on this global platform.”
