La Colombe Group Chefs Honoured with Accolades at The Best Chef Awards 2025

The La Colombe Group is proud to announce that four of its head chefs have been awarded knives in the prestigious The Best Chef Awards 2025, which took place in Milan, Italy, last night. These awards recognise four of the group’s chefs among an esteemed group of global culinary leaders whose creativity, passion, and dedication are shaping the future of gastronomy.

Last night’s awards saw:

  • James Gaag, Executive Chef at La Colombe recognised with Two Knives
  • Peter Duncan, Head Chef at La Petite Colombe recognised with Two Knives
  • John Norris-Rogers, Head Chef at PIER recognised with One Knife
  • Roxy Mudie, Head Chef at The Waterside recognised with One Knife

Says Gaag, “It’s an absolute honour to be recognised alongside so many chefs I admire. This award is not just for me, but for the entire La Colombe team who put their heart into every plate and service. I’m incredibly grateful to be part of this journey, and proud of Peter, John and Roxy for earning a spot on the global stage for their work.”

Speaking on his award, Duncan said: I’m deeply humbled and honoured to be recognized as part of The Best Chef Award 2025. It’s truly a dream come true, and I’m grateful for this opportunity. I’d like to express my sincere appreciation for this acknowledgment.”

The Best Chef Awards is the latest in a year full of celebrations for the La Colombe Group, which includes La Colombe, La Petite Colombe and PIER all receiving Three Stars in the Woolworths Eat Out Restaurant Awards – and The Waterside receiving Two Stars – as well as La Colombe being ranked 55 in the World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards, and The Best Restaurant in Africa.

Founded in 2017, The Best Chef Awards celebrates chefs not only for their food but also for their creativity, innovation, and lasting impact on the culinary world. The 2025 edition in Milan saw leading chefs from across the globe brought together to honour excellence, passion, and vision in fine dining.
