“Four Countries, Four Voices” Brings Opera, Cuisine and Purpose Together in Johannesburg

Join the Forum Company and Diemersfontein wines for an extraordinary evening of music, fine dining and meaningful impact. “Four Countries, Four Voices”, a unique musical dining experience takes place on 18 April 2026 at The Forum Hyde Park.

The stage is set on seventh floor of Hyde Park Corner with sweeping views across the city, the event brings together four rising South African opera talents for a performance that journeys through Europe, pairing iconic arias from four countries with a thoughtfully curated menu inspired by each region.

Guests will enjoy a four-course meal created by the culinary team at The Forum Company, with each course paired with wines from Diemersfontein Wine Estate. The evening promises to bring together exceptional food and live music, thoughtfully paired to create an elegant and immersive experience.

The featured performers include four exceptional young vocalists, accompanied on piano by Andrew Duncan:

  • Yolisa Ngwexana (Soprano) – from Khayelitsha, graduate of the University of the North and Guildhall School of Music, performing in Europe and South Africa.
  • Temba Mdladlose (Baritone) – from Eswatini, third-year student at the University of Cape Town Opera School with roles at Opera UCT.
  • Zintle Soga (Soprano) – Johannesburg-based freelance singer, Performing Arts degree from Tshwane University of Technology.
  • Nkosana Mabasa (Tenor) – from Soweto, third-year vocal studies student at Tshwane University of Technology.

“Four Countries, Four Voices” is hosted by the Excellence out of Africa Trust, a passion project founded by David Sonnenberg and Susan Sonnenberg of Diemersfontein Wine Estate.

All proceeds from the evening will go directly towards supporting the next generation of South African vocalists, funding masterclasses, international travel bursaries and study opportunities.

More than just a night out, the event offers guests the opportunity to play a part in launching young artists onto the global stage.
