In the heart of Franschhoek, Toff & Dandy Lifestyle is redefining boutique retail with a vibrant blend of art, design, fashion and gifting. Created by local mother-and-daughter duo Candice and Alexandra Holgate, the lifestyle destination is a celebration of colour, creativity and conscious living, born from a shared belief that life is too short to be surrounded by beige.
Designed to evoke the feeling of an endless summer, the immersive space feels more like a living artwork than a traditional store. Its carefully curated collection features sustainable artworks, hand-tufted rugs, fashion, tableware, prints and distinctive gifts, with around 60% of products either created by the Holgates or developed in collaboration with local artisans, South African designers and independent brands.
Alexandra is responsible for the store’s colourful, one-of-a-kind rugs, while Candice creates sustainable artworks and original prints. Together, they have built a platform that champions African creativity while supporting local makers and homegrown talent.
Sustainability is woven throughout the brand, from recycled artworks to innovative design elements such as a dressing-room mirror crafted from discarded plastic and repurposed moving boxes.
Inspired by travels to warmer destinations during the Western Cape winter, Toff & Dandy captures the optimism and energy of perpetual summer through bold design and playful curation.
