Legends Barber is Excited to Announce Partnership with Township Marathon

Legends Barbershop, Africa’s leading barbershop announced its partnership with the Township Marathon Series 2025, in the north of Johannesburg.

“Our main objective through this  CSI initiative is to connect communities and promote healthy and sustainable lifestyles. The launch of our inaugural marathon series  makes us very excited about the future of road running not only in Eldorado Park but  in communities around South Africa,” Sheldon Tatchell CEO and founder of Legends Barber commented.

“We will be contributing a considerable amount of revenue in road running until 2026, with benefits flowing down from school  level into supporting underprivileged and developing  athletes. One of the key objectives through the sponsorship of this  events is to support the development of athletes – everything else we achieve beyond this is a bonus,” said Tatchell.

Launched in February 1995, the objective of the township marathon is to promote a healthier lifestyle and to develop a culture of athletics in the community of Eldorado Park and its surrounds by rehabilitating and integrating delinquent youth through social development programmes and sport.

“We are thrilled to enter into partnership with Legends Barber on an event that embodies the spirit of determination, resilience, and community,” said Joe Morris, founder and President of Township Marathon. “For over 20 years, Township Marathon  has been privileged to celebrate the inspiring stories of countless runners who have crossed the finish line of this iconic marathon.”

Early registration for the Marathon Series 2025 opens at the end of October 2024 and closes the week of the race or when the race capacity has been reached. Early entries will receive a complimentary Legends Township Marathon goody bag, free photo downloads, and a medal.

“We are excited to build on the past successes with the 2025 Township Marathon Series and look forward to welcoming old and new runners as we continue to support and promote healthy lifestyles in the Eldorado Park and surrounds,” concluded Tatchell.
