Marble – A Testament to Good Food

Marble

The story of Marble began in 2014, when after travelling extensively to international destinations, Gary and Irene Kyriacou conceptualized the idea for a place where patrons could dress up, have a great meal and spend some quality time in comfortable and stylish surroundings.

A chance meeting with Chef David Higgs turned into a successful partnership and friendship.

Marble offers Joburg diners something different – a theatre of live-fire cooking and a beautiful bar with a view that stretches all the way to Magaliesburg.

The menu includes some delicious seafood and great steaks and cuts of red meat.

Dishes are simple – a few defined flavours in a plate.

Set in the middle of the Keyes Art Mile – the regenerated hub of Rosebank – Marble is surrounded by local art too, as the interior, coordinated by Irene Kyriacou, owner of Oniroco, hosts a selection local artists and artisans.

Marble’s two private dining rooms, regularly feature art from the private collection of Trumpet’s owner, Anton Taljaard. The pieces showcase internationally acclaimed, local artists such as Irma Stern and Frans Oerden.

“Marble embodies South African’s love of cooking on fire, a quality that makes SA food culture different from the rest of the world.” Chef David Higgs.
