Light, Bright Flavours of Spring at Foxcroft, Constantia

Nestled amidst the lush vineyards and scenic landscapes of Constantia, Cape Town, Foxcroft Restaurant is a culinary haven that offers a dining experience unlike any other. Exuding an elegant and welcoming ambiance, the restaurant’s contemporary design seamlessly blends with its natural surroundings, allowing guests to indulge in the exquisite cuisine and beautiful wines.

The staff at Foxcroft are exemplary. They are not only knowledgeable about the menu but also passionate about the food and wine offerings. From arrival to departure, service is attentive, friendly, and professional.

The heart of Foxcroft’s allure lies in its cuisine and Chef Glen Williams cooks with the same intensity and thoughtfulness as fine dining but in a more casual and approachable format. Working together with the best local farmers and the finest international suppliers, every ingredient is selected for seasonality, quality and flavour.

The vegetarian options are equally impressive with emphasis on inventive combinations that cater to all tastes.

As one would expect, Foxcroft boasts an impressive wine list too and the food & wine pairing highlight some beauties!

The culinary journey starts with an optional course of sublime oysters, followed by four further courses with options to choose from – all we can say, is good luck deciding! Yellowfin Tuna Tataki (Roasted sesame, cucumber, seaweed, yuzu, miso) or Crispy Mushroom (Berbere, braised shitake, cep cream, chevre, teff crisp) are served cold and designed to prepare the palate for what is yet to come.

The second course is peppered with delights of Risotto (Pecorino, black pepper, guanciale, confit pork cheek, crackling) or Dry Aged Beef with Sunchoke, smoked garlic, snails, beef fat Bordelaise.

Main courses are heartier but still bear the signature attention to detail that is threaded throughout all of the dishes at Foxcroft. Pan-roasted Line fish with smoked mussel, pak choi, roasted cashew, tom yum and Braised lamb served with confit, pan roasted, turnip, haricot, kale, salsa verde are both as satisfying as they are plentiful.

No visit to Foxcroft is complete without their decadent desserts. Options include Caramelized Quince, Lime Cheesecake and the light as air, take me away, Tiramisu!

Until 30 November you can enjoy the flavours of spring at Foxcroft with a 4-course Spring Lunch Special at R695 pp.
