The French L’Etoile translates as The Star and true to its name, this drink is sparkling and shiny and just perfect for the Festive season. Here is the recipe for Leopard’s Leap L’Etoil Wine Cocktail.
Ingredients (for 1 cocktail, but you’d want to make more…)
60 ml vanilla simple syrup (recipe below)
30 ml brandy
Leopard’s Leap Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir, chilled
Lemon, cut into wedges
Sprigs of thyme
Ingredients for the vanilla simple syrup
1⁄2 cup water
1⁄2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Method – vanilla simple syrup
Dissolve water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring.
Cool, then add the vanilla extract and stir.
Strain into a jar or bottle and seal tightly with a lid.
Method – cocktail
Pour brandy and vanilla simple syrup into a chilled champagne flute or coupe.
Fill to the top with the sparkling wine.
Squeeze lemon juice into glass and drop in rind.
Decorate with thyme.
