Dineplan, South Africa’s leading restaurant reservations platform, is proud to announce the top 100 restaurants in this year’s Reviewers’ Choice Awards. Drawing on data from 320,000 diner-generated reviews, the awards offer a representative view of the best-loved restaurants in the country.
Taking this year’s top spot is locally renowned Good to Gather in Stellenbosch, closely followed by Reverie Social Table in Cape Town. Rounding out the rest of the top 5 are Eatery at Winshaw Vineyards and The Table at De Meye, both in Stellenbosch, and Schneider’s Cape Floral Kitchen in Stanford.

In the last 12 months Dineplan has processed 5.5 million reservations, resulting in over 25 million diners seated across 1300 eateries nationwide. Once diners have made – and honoured – their reservation they are invited to rate and review their experience based on four key criteria – service, value, food and ambience.
With service, value and ambience holding as much weight as the food, this translates into a Joburg neighbourhood gem receiving as much recognition as a fine dining establishment in the Winelands. This year, notable regional standouts include The LivingRoom at Summerhill in Pinetown, KZN and Insights at Sanctuary Mandela in Johannesburg.
