Free-Range Kids go Wild
Kids aged 5 – 14 years have the chance to enjoy an authentic outdoor farm experience under the leadership and professional guidance of the Tree House team whilst you unwind and take a well-deserved break. The Tree House playground and pump track is also open to young farm explorers.
The Tree House experience is valid Monday to Sunday and complimentary for in-house guests, kids can either be booked in for 2 hour morning/afternoon slots OR for a full day programme.
Explore the Farm on Horseback!
Experience exquisite views of the Franschhoek Valley as you explore the wine farm and all its wonders on horseback. The 1-hour guided horse rides are available throughout the day where you’ll get a glimpse of Boschendal’s beauty.
Expect some mean climbs and sweet single track rides Visit the Trail Centre to get your permits and they’ll help you navigate all the routes and rentals available. Bike rental bookings are recommended for the weekends and public holidays, or bring your own!

Guests can also try their hand at harvesting seasonal herbs from the herb garden and visiting the chicken farm for some fresh farm eggs.
Dining at Boschendal
A perfect spot for casual dining with family and friends with hearty farm meals, ranging from all-day breakfasts to popular wood-fired pizzas for dinner. The menu consists of a selection of the best of what the seasons has on offer.

The Werf Restaurant
Situated in the beautifully revamped original cellar of the Manor House, the focus at The Werf Restaurant is on presenting contemporary soil-to-fork dining using the best available local, seasonal and ethically-sourced ingredients.
The sharing plate menu features produce from the farm including the farms own Black Angus beef, forest-reared Duroc pork and vegetables and herbs from The Werf Food Garden, which can be viewed from the conservatory.
Winter is often called secret season in the Winelands , with perfect days of crisp winelands air and warm winter sunshine. Savour the winter sunshine on the Werf lawns, with the breathtaking views of the Simonsberg mountains, snacking on a hearty spread of delicious eats and treats, it’s a fun family outing sure to beat the winter blues!
Only the best available seasonal and ethically-sourced ingredients, as well as locally made artisanal goods, are used, ensuring guests receive a basket filled with delicious, healthy and wholesome food.

Wine Maker’s Dinners series
On the first Thursday of each month, enjoy a paired three-course dinner at The Werf Restaurant hosted by Executive Chef Allistaire Lawrence and one of Boschendal’s three winemakers. Cellar master and red winemaker Jacques Viljoen, white winemaker Michael Langenhoven and Cap Classique winemaker, Danielle Coetsee, who received the prestigious ‘’Woman Winemaker of the Year” award at the 2020 SA Women’s Wine & Spirit Awards, will co-host each of the events.
There will be an opportunity for an intimate Q&A session before each dinner. The wines will be complemented by produce and meat straight from the pastures and gardens. Dates 01st of July 2021; 05th of August 2021; 02nd of September 2021

The Summer months also welcome back the drive-in cinema on Saturday evenings – Sit back, relax and enjoy your favourite movies while you snack on delicious farm treats with your loved ones. Open every Saturday (weather permitting) & bookings are essential.
