Palm House Boutique Hotel and Spa introduces Easy Sundays, a relaxed traditional roast lunch offering at the hotel’s Palm Terrace restaurant. Designed by chef Gregory Henderson, the menu is a refined take on the traditional Sunday lunch, perfect for families, friends and guests seeking a slow afternoon in a serene setting.

Situated in the historic suburb of Upper Wynberg, Palm House is one of Cape Town’s best-kept secrets – a tranquil escape from the bustle of the city, just a short drive from the Constantia winelands and False Bay coast. Surrounded by lush gardens and shaded terraces, Palm Terrace offers a picturesque backdrop for long, lingering lunches.

The Palm Terrace Easy Sundays menu is centred around generous, uncomplicated food made with attention to detail and seasonal ingredients. The experience begins with a series of sharing plates served tableside such as Baked Brie and Caramelised Onion Tartlets, House Smoked Trout Pâté, Grilled Artichokes and Marinated Olives, Heritage Tomato and Burrata Salad, and Warm Farmhouse Bread fresh from the oven.

Guests are then served a comforting Roasted Butternut and Sage Soup, followed by the main course – such as a choice between Slow-Roasted Cider Pork Belly or Herb-Rubbed Roasted Leg of Lamb, accompanied by a selection of sides crafted to honour the spirit of a proper Sunday roast.

Lunch culminates on a decadent note with dessert such as a Dark Chocolate and Fynbos Honey Mousse, rich yet delicately balanced, showcasing local ingredients with finesse.

A glass of Palm House estate wine is included with each meal, and guests are invited to extend their afternoon with drinks on the lawn, poolside loungers, or at the elegant Bar 1920. The experience is as much about taking the time to relax as it is about the food on the table.

Easy Sundays at Palm Terrace are priced at R425 per person and includes a glass of Palm House estate wine. Seating is limited and early bookings are recommended. Chef Gregory Henderson’s menu changes with the seasons and produce availability.
