EARTHBOX, Cape Town’s immersive art-meets-nature experience, offers a unique opportunity to delve into the intricate bond we share with our planet. In celebration of Earth Day, EARTHBOX is hosting a series of special events on 21 and 22 April.
Free Earth Day Access
On Monday, April 22nd, EARTHBOX will offer free admission to everyone from opening (at 09h00) until 11h30, with a complimentary audio tour included. This special offer allows visitors to explore the wonders of EARTHBOX at their own pace, beginning with a short tractor ride from Lourensford’s parking lot.
From 12 noon till 15h00, EARTHBOX will be closed to the public while they host a special Play by Nature Workshop for children from Imibala, a local organization empowering children from disadvantaged communities.
Public Earth Day Play by Nature Children’s Workshop
Later the same day, a public Earth Day Children’s Workshop, perfect for children aged 3-8 years, will be held from 15h00 to 16h00 in association with Play by Nature. This playful and educational workshop encourages kids to connect with nature through interactive activities. Tickets are R350 per child and R100 per accompanying adult. Bookings can be made through Play by Nature.
Play by Nature uses the Reggio Emilia approach to create educational, engaging and entertaining workshops for children where the environment is the main teacher.
Journey into the Earth with Secret Sunrise
In the lead-up to Earth Day, EARTHBOX has partnered with Secret Sunrise to present a special “Journey into the Earth” event on April 21st from 6pm to 8pm. This unique experience combines meditation and dance, offering a powerful connection to the Earth and oneself. Tickets are R350 and can be booked here.

A Contemporary Taste of Africa with Chef Vusi Ndlovu
The EARTHBOX Chef’s Series continues with a special presentation by award-winning chef Vusi Ndlovu on the evening of April 26th. Chef Ndlovu will showcase his innovative and ground-breaking take on African cuisine, offering a one-night-only multi-course tasting experience. Tickets to this unique event are R3500 and include all courses, wine pairings, and a welcome cocktail. Bookings can be made via Webtickets.
Luvo Rasemeni: A Powerful Voice Resonates in the Chamber
On April 28th, the EARTHBOX chamber will come alive with the powerful vocals of Luvo Rasemeni. This versatile bass-baritone from Queenstown, Eastern Cape, will captivate audiences with a performance featuring operatic classics and modern favorites. Audiences can enjoy a pre-concert Drum gin cocktail before settling in for a musical treat made unforgettable by the extraordinary acoustics of the EARTHBOX chamber.
